That time of the year ain't in? Where is @dontknow?

You know me, Cary Imps for life. Cary will miss their two SR GKs and some SR players. Lots of talented JV/FR kids and a few leftover players. Rebuilding year for sure. Team is very capable of a couple of upset wins against their well-heeled neighbors.

Cardinal Gibbons and Green Hope will go very deep.

New uniform rules?
-
High school soccer teams will be reversing their home and visiting uniforms next season. Effective with the 2018-19 season, the home team will wear dark jerseys and socks, and the visiting team will wear solid white jerseys and solid white socks.

This uniform change was one of nine rules revisions recommended by the National Federation of State High School Association’s (NFHS) Soccer Rules Committee at its January 22-24 meeting in Indianapolis. All changes were subsequently approved by the NFHS Board of Directors.

Previously, the home team was required to wear solid white jerseys and the visiting team wore dark-colored jerseys. The language defines dark as “any color which contrasts with white.”

CHHS hosts Leesville tonight for a scrimmage. Expecting the LRHS team to be very strong, as usual.

Provides home teams with flexibility to wear alternate colors for whatever reason.

Green Hope may have lost a key defender for the season to injury. They always manage to compete but maybe makes them a little more vulnerable.

Cardinal Gibbons will always be tough. Quality coach and unlimited area to recruit from.

Holly Springs, AFHS and Apex will be the quality of that conference. Expect to see all three post-season.

Wake County Cup prediction? Cardinal Gibbons over AFHS. Heritage lost their big scorer, hope to see them do well this year.

Panther Creek lost their top player but will still be pretty strong. I'm not convinced of the quality at Green Hope in their senior class. They had two good seniors and now one is out. They also lost a really good senior that got on the wrong side of the law. Right now I don't see anyone that can touch Broughton.

Panther Creek may struggle this year. They lost multiple seniors.

We should see some strength of teams in the next two weeks with what seems to be some good matches.

Guessing the top 5 from the triangle in no particular order are Cardinal Gibbons, Broughton, Green Hope, Leesville and Jordan.

Hoggard plays AFHS and Heritage the next two weeks so we will see how strong they are this year.
Gibbons plays Green Hope and Apex in two weeks.
Green Hope plays Apex and Broughton next week and Gibbons and Leesville the week after.
Broughton has Holly Springs and Green Hope next week
Leesville has Green Hope and AFHS in tow weeks and then Jordan and Gibbons early September

They may give an early idea of the seasons ahead or leave us all still pondering....Either way should be some competitive matches

Holly Springs turned around and played Gibbons tight but lost 1-0. Is Athens a team to watch?

I would say Athens is a fun team TO watch. They have experienced seniors back, mid, and up front. And I can see them being a hard to team match up against.

Tonight is FV, we'll learn a little more tonight.

You may be right. If you only beat them 5-0 that may mean you are not as good as thought you were.

Athens versus Cary is always a good rivalry game. So many Cary kids now go to that school to. Good to hear they have a good team this year. I would imagine some sterner tests are coming up.
