HS boys season

Boys season is starting up soon, who will be top teams in the state this season. Hoggard has a new coach and 3-4 D1 college players should be one of the top teams around.

A team from new PAC6 or new CAP8 will win it all. Green Hope, Panther Creek, Millbrook and Broughton are my favorites. Of course Gibbons will be in the mix. Jordan has a new coach and needs another year.

Here we go again.........I predict a flame out in the first round of the playoffs because the 3-4 D1 players will be over trying out for Real Madrid that day.

Pardon my ignorance, but could someone please point me to a site that has teams listed by conference?

Never mind...found it:

https://www.nchsaa.org/sites/default/files/attachments/NCHSAA_Handbook-2016-17%20112.pdf

However, it looks like there is realignment:

https://www.nchsaa.org/sites/default/files/attachments/2017-21RealignmentFinalDraft.pdf

2017-21

Conference D and Green Hope is my call.

My prediction is 3 teams out of the new Tri6 (Green Hope, Panther Creek, Cary, Athens, Jordan, Riverside) will make the final 8 in the state tournament. A lot of strong soccer in the triangle again this year.

How will the CAP8 be this year? Broughton lost a top player that is moving out of state.

Cary could have a sleeper team but Green Hope will be hard to top. Not too familiar with the Durham area teams but Jordan has a good team by all account. I cannot see Enloe going too far. Gibbons will be good. Too many good teams in the area. Every game will be a fight.

Easy to beat up on 3A teams and out of conference weak teams. I cannot see them going too far when faced with real competition.

Leesville Road lost a lot of seniors and a midfielder to Academy. Broughton lost a lot of seniors and a rising sophomore to Academy out of state. Fielding a good team at SE Raleigh is tough. Not sure about the other four teams in the Cap 7 conference.

As someone said, every game will be a fight.

I think this will be the story line for all the decent high school teams in the Triangle for years to come.

Six of the current CapSeven teams made the playoffs last year and four of them won games, and the two that didn't win lost to another CapSeven team. The conference should be competitive. I'll go with Millbrook to win it.

Heritage should run away with the Northern Athletic conference.

Green Hope, followed by Panther Creek, seem to be tops in the TriangleSix.

Should be a fun year.

I might take Panther Creek over Green Hope this season. PC looks like they have a lot more returning experience while GH is losing about 15 seniors and about 85% of their goals. It will be tough to top their 2016 season of course. But, ya never can tell when some under classmen step in a surprise.

First Flight should be decent again this year in 2A as long as they remain healthy.

Heritage Husky Jamboree today and tomorrow should shed some light on things. Starts tonight at 5:00. All day event tomorrow starting at 8:00. $5 at the gate. Heritage, Wakefield, Broughton, Jordan, Green Hope, Millbrook, Sanderson and Panther Creek. There's a state champ in that group?

It is so hard to tell in a scrimmage but Broughton, Green Hope and Jordan looked pretty good. I never got to see Heritage, Wakefield or Panther Creek.

Heritage,Panther Creek, Jordan, and Green Hope looked very similar and very talented. Surprised about Jordan, heard they were supposed to be down. New coach, young team.
