Major merger in the triangle?

Hearing rumors of a major merger in the Triangle area. NCFC, TFCA, CASL. Anyone else hear anything?

Word on the street is that both clubs are folding into NCFC to create their youth program.

Heard the same thing. I wonder if it will be announced on all three sites: NCFC, CASL and TFCA?

I'm trying to get my head around this. This is a very good thing, right? I wonder if TUSA was invited as well but couldn't work it out.

Yes, tryouts for the TFCA/Casl south players will be very interesting. Just hope coaches from both clubs are there to evaluate the players.

Will be interesting to see reaction from WFC/TUSA/XL... my daughter plays for WFC and we got an email yesterday that the 3 were forming a 'partnership' , but specifically said it was 'not a merger'.

I just wonder if they already knew todays CASL/TFCA/NCFC announcement was coming? If not, I wonder how they will react. On the surface, it would seem that the new NCFC Youth program will be very difficult to compete with overall, not just on the field.

I would assume WFC/TUSA was in the dark. Word just got out yesterday afternoon about this happening. I would be shocked if WFC does not lose some of their top talent to NCFC Youth. I can see some players from CASL South and TFCA leaving to go to WFC though.

Probably some movement at younger ages and will create some interesting tryouts in the south. But I don't forsee a lot of club movement; if you play at CASL South or TFC, you'll probably just roll into the new club. If you're elsewhere, you're there for a reason and guessing you would stay there for the same reason, whatever that is. Nothing about this would make me want to move my kids from WakeFC or TUSA to the new NCSC.

Actually as stated above, with a glut of players in the South now falling under one club and top South teams, possible that some leave CASL South or TFC and head to WakeFC to avoid the congestion.

Here is the press release.

As the parent of a TUSA player, not sure how I feel about it.

CASL's statement: http://www.caslnc.com/Default.aspx?tabid=1593162&showpageeditor=1

I wonder specifically what the impact of this statement will be: Continue to serve players and families in Wake County and expand our services to Durham & Orange Counties

NCFC North = Current CASL North
NCFC South = Current CASL South and TFC
NCFC West = ???

This creates a very strong CASL South program, especially right away for the older aged kids
