Jordan HS looking for a new coach?

If this is the case, it should generate some pretty good interest.

I will be surprised if it's much more than $1000 a season.

It's common knowledge among players.

Didn't realize your kid played for them. Well hopefully they find a good one, they will probably get a lot of applications.

Yes, it is confirmed now and the job will be posted soon. It should generate some decent interest. They have won a 3 state championships, always have a good pipeline of players (7-8 players on either CARA or Sporting KC) and are one of the few public high schools with their own natural grass field (i.e. don't have to play home games on the football field).

For top schools it is around $2500 per season.

Good luck finding someone to coach for the little stipend HS coaches get, let alone drive the activity bus, go 5 days a week with practices and games. But also work for the school system and have a soccer background.

Oh and I left off that you can do less and make triple coaching a travel club team.

So until high schools start realizing that they need to pay other coaches like they do Basketball and Football then it is slim pickings.

The HS soccer coaches that are in it now have probably been doing it for many many years and the ones that get into it only last a few seasons and then realize the time, effort, and pay do not match up

Most schools use a teacher at the school, as it is easiest with schedules and paying them. Hopefully Jordan has someone there that can do it, or find someone willing to put the time in outside the school.

Oh Im sure they will find someone, but finding someone with a soccer backgroud is the question. And someone who will be there for awhile is another.

I am sure 4A schools have no problem finding a teacher with a decent soccer background. Would think it would be more of a problem in smaller schools.

Since your son is on the team, is this going to be a good job to take or not? How will they be the next couple years?
