not too much info yet on their website. i see they will have challenge, select, and classic... i wonder what league the select will play. And can they really get NCYSA to approve them for classic play?

This sounds very jaded of me I know, but aren't there enough soccer clubs/teams/opportunities in Wake County?

Just curious about being unable to find what you're looking for with TFC, FVAA, CASL, NCAlliance, Carolina Soccer Club, TUSA and others I may be missing (like My Soccer Fitness, about which I know nothing).

Is this why Allred left TUSA?

Well, I assume some/most of the paid coaches are already making a living from soccer from other clubs already.

So AnonX's point is well taken - do they need another club? I guess it benefits the residents with more options.

When coaches leave a club - Is it like where a group of employees are so unhappy (or a myriad of reasons) that they leave the company and form a new company of their own?! It is not so unreasonable.

Then I guess we can make an assumption about where they are planning on getting players from ...

Not surprising at all. One team had 6 players quit this year.

It says their affiliated with US Club. They may just start out as tournament teasm if they can't work something out with the state.

If people come to tryouts, make a team, pay Classic registrations, then find out they do not have NCYSA Classic membership and no one to play, they are going to be angry.

And fields will be announced after tryouts?

They are not going to get approved for NCYSA period. The other clubs in the area will not vote to allow them in. They will have to play in challenge leagues or US Club tournaments. The teams could be as good as other classic teams in the area depending on who shows up but they will not play NCYSA classic. They could easily be in the classic level at tournaments.

Somehow, they must be optimistic and/or have some connections with folks in NCYSA. With tryout dates being the same for several clubs, parents/players should really do their homework and figure where to go carefully.

If WakeFC plans to form a true travel team (tournaments only), I would only imagine the cost being much more for travel, fees, etc. (I hear My Soccer Fitness is doing something like this...)

I think a new club offers more choices to people so it is not a bad thing. Just people need to know what they are signing up for.....

Allred and Brose listed as directors:

They have great credentials.

Didn't Brose coach at TUSA last year? Had like the U13B Green/Wake County team?

Isnt Sport HQ having to go away due to Costco buying that land?

I think those coaches have coached at every club in the triangle the last 4 years, I guess they ran out of clubs, that speaks volumes of committment!

Brose is cosching the current FVAA u-14 team. He has been at several clubs over the past 4 years, but I can tell you that he is an outstanding coach who knows how to teach and communicate. I have no idea why he left but I expect that there will be many kids/parents wanting to be associated with him at WFC. Best of luck Dario!

Well, I too, wish them the best. Competition, among the clubs, is a good thing (as long as it can deliver what it advertises - i.e. Classic soccer.) I think a new club can bring new services, energy, passion for the game, even new fields to Wake residence. The nearby existing clubs will have to step up its game.

They will indeed be hunting for players and the low hanging fruit is TUSA.
