CUFC and CSA have developed some of the most successful talent in Charlotte. If terrible talent is there I would hate to see the really good talent.

I don't know if other clubs in the state are having issues like we are...does the NC teams get credit when credit is due...take GotSoccer for
indtance, they ask that all managers input results of regular season games and tournaments so Got Soccer can claim that their ranking system can be
used to qualify you for certain tournaments, or at least help establish seedings....they haven't updated our age group since Feb. '10. I have posted
multiple requests and nothing....they ought to be ashamed!
Congrates to all NC teams, winnings and not winners...keep participating, its sport, it's for fun!

Point taken, but you are comparing individual players to club teams. In NC, some kids from the Academy clubs are not doing ODP even at the younger
ages (I don't know why - ODP has great social benefits). I was surprised that the '97s from NC had so few on the ODP Region III team and going to
National Camp.
Looking at the results from the Region III, USYS National and Academy National tournaments, I'd say that NC teams did well compared to everyone else
except California and Texas (but I don't recall Florida specifically). We're a long step behind the leaders, but we're among the leaders of the rest
of the nation.

With all the blustering going on, there really is one top club in the state. CASL's in the headlines even when they aren't in the headlines

That's pretty shoddy reporting (or editing).

In fact I think highly of a few. For instance both Weddington & Catawba both have a nice program,.
On the other hand, a large club does not exactly ensure success (See CUFC for details on how to be a large club and have terrible talent)
To each their own.
What do you mean by "terrible talent"?

To be honest, I never even think about it. There are so many good clubs in the state, it doesn't seem like it matters much.
As a parent, you want to put your kid in the best situation for them. If they aren't in a good situation, it doesn't matter how many trophies are in
the trophy case. There have been plenty of age or gender specific teams that are a great option that don't happen to be at the biggest clubs.
Nice that NC soccer is so strong. Lots of options.
