I am sure players were convinced that training for and playing for a National Championship, should be their priority. Plus I am sure the risk of injury was a concern.

Whether you agree with this sentiment or not, I am sure this is the case. Would be a tough situation for the kids to be in.

The majority of the boys on the SCSA 93 Gold made this tough decision on their own early on as they knew they would be playing Academy next year and thus would not be able to play any additional ODP events post camp (Region Team, Interregionals, International events, etc). This decision was communicated to ODP staff well in advance of the last training session and ultimatley Camp selections.

Last year the team won Regionals in a brutal grind of six games over six days. Many of them left shortly thereafter to play at the RIII ODP Camp and were then held over. Nationals were played not long after ODP Camp which provided very little time to recover properly from an athletic standpoint.

As the team has had a similar run this year the boys have had time to properly recover from the Regional Championships effort and focus clearly on the opportunity in front of them at the upcoming National Championships.

RIII ODP camp was by far my son's favorite camp experience over the past three years and it was indeed tough to pass on this summer. However the opportunity to compete for the National Championship again has him highly motivated as well.

In addition, opportunities for many other players to experieince the RIII ODP camp opened up due to this situation which is a positive.

Yes, I do. In the public forum I think the team scores are sufficient. U2U me if you really wanna know the individual goalscorers.

the whole ODP camp intent is about identifying individual players to promote to Regional and National pools/teams...

highlighting individual efforts does have a bit of merit

As well it should and those who have kids there will get that information from them as well as information about their teammates.

He was willing to share that privately and I happen to like that. I understand that is just my personal preference. Too often the goal scorers are listed but there is a lot more detail related to play of the team that gets left out.

That is not say we do have some forum members that do a good job of giving more of the story.

Okay. I'll find out who all scored for the 93s and put that up. I know Gabe scored one. M. Stevenson scored for the 94s. Just heard finally that the 95 2nd team beat S. Texas handily 6/7-0.

I agree it would be nice to give similar individual recognition to defenders and play makers (really, I do! ), but that is just harder to do without being there to observe. Even then, those types of things are so much more subjective (except for assists, I suppose). I don't think that this should mean that the goal scorers should not be recognized though, especially in the ODP environment.

Nice. Dale Earnhardt huh? How do you get such fast reports?
I wish I could get my kid on a shorter leash like this. Any idea how the 95's did this morning (if they played already)?

I love this live coverage. Thanks Tecnico! NC2 tied SC1? Wow!
That's another really nice result for NC. SC1 is very good.
Did you see any of this game? So, Eric's back. I heard they were back in the country. Nice to see he's picked right back up where he left off! Good stuff.
